On Monday, August 31, 2009,
our community came together to welcome LCPL Draughn home.
He
was released from Walter Reed Army Hospital where he was recovering from injuries he sustained in an IED explosion in Afghanistan.
At approximately 5:00 pm, we saw the headlights of an Ohio State
Patrol car, the car LCPL Draughn was riding in and the long line of bikers with the Patriot Guard Riders. It
was at this moment that we knew … LCPL Draughn was home!
The streets were lined with people from the time he got off of I-675 until he got home. It
was a sight to behold!
We waved our flags. We
cheered. We cried.
Welcome Home LCPL
Draughn and thank you for doing what you did to protect the Red, White and Blue.
