In March of 2006, we were contacted by three Chaplains, located in
Afghanistan, with a request for school supplies to be sent to the children in that country.
They told us that OPERATION MOUNTAIN LAMB was an effort to provide humanitarian assistance
to Afghanistan. The humanitarian relief mission was for the American Families of the 10th Mountain
Division out of Ft. Drum, New York, to support the soldiers and their families.
We
decided to adopt OPERATION MOUNTAIN LAMB as our mission project. All of the members sent out a request
for school supplies to their families, friends, employers, churches and school districts. And, when all
was said and done, we collected 1,355 pounds of school supplies! One Thousand Three Hundred Fifty Five
pounds!!!!! We made international news!
A
great big THANK YOU goes out to our community for their support. And, a special THANK YOU to the Mountain
Community Homes of New York, AUSA, and everyone that was associated with OPERATION MOUNTAIN LAMB. . . Click any photo on this page to enlarge the image.
